I get all sorts of errors (misspelled "errored"), not only "no sapce left" but also "invalid pointer", "end of file", etc, when the sum of files being downloaded exceed free space in the target drive even when there is plenty of room left for each of them individually (even when Pre-allocate disk space for all files is NOT selected).
